YAY!
I finished another book, The Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett and it was good, I'm pretty stoked right now. First, note to self: Never start a 973 page book the weekend before finals. I picked it up at the library thinking, "this can't be any bigger than Harry Potter.." but when I was about 80 pages through I realized it was not only twice as long as I expected- but very thrilling as well. The time I should have spent studying was spent in Medieval England with some incredible and very human characters who made me smile and cry and huff and puff with anger. It was literally like reading the video game Obvlivion, with all of the priory business and nobles and peasants. It was awesome to finally read about that time period from many different perspectives- not just the nobility who wrote the history of the time. Unlike other books with multiple storylines and perspectives, I actually looked forward to every single one of them, and wasn't disappointed when the point of view changed. I can't wait to read the sequel but there's really a lot of books I need to read before I get started on another epically long and awesome one. I'm just going to watch the miniseries when I can meanwhile. But yeah, loved it. And proud of myself for reading a huge ass book.
